About Haug Aviation
Located at Lee's Summit Municipal Airport (KLXT), Haug Aviation LLC is a Part 61 flight training and aircraft rental operation built for working adults and serious students in eastern Kansas and western Missouri.
We believe the best students come from clear expectations, not optimistic dreams. Flight training takes courage, discipline, and genuine commitment. We're here for pilots who take that seriously.

Not sure if flying is for you? Take a 30–45 minute Discovery Flight over Lee's Summit for just $150. You take the controls. The cost applies toward training if you enroll.

Rent our well-maintained 1967 Cessna 150H (N6731S) for personal flying. Open to certificated pilots who complete a checkout flight with a Haug Aviation CFI and who carry their own renter’s insurance. From $105/hr with Advance Pay Discount.

Our tiered rate structure rewards prompt payment. Aircraft fees go to Haug Aviation LLC through Flight Circle. Instruction fees are paid directly to your flight instructor.

💳 Aircraft fees are paid to Haug Aviation LLC through Flight Circle. ACH bank transfer is preferred and carries no fee. Credit cards are accepted with a disclosed 3.0% surcharge — our actual cost of accepting the card, not a markup. Debit cards, ACH, cash and check carry no surcharge. Instruction fees are the CFI’s own revenue and are paid directly to your instructor — for Ariana, Venmo @Ariana-Anaya-1 or cash. Please do not send instruction fees to Haug Aviation LLC.
✈️ Once you're set up as a student in our Flight Circle account, payments become seamless — book flights, log hours, and pay for aircraft and instruction time directly through the scheduling system, no separate invoices or manual tracking required.
Our rates are unchanged and are being held. We will not raise the aircraft rate before a second aircraft joins the fleet, and any future change will be given to every pilot in writing at least 30 days before it takes effect.

If you're not fit to fly, we don't fly. No fee. No questions. No judgment. This is how aviation should work.

The Aircraft
Our 1967 Cessna 150H is a purpose-built primary trainer with light, responsive controls and honest flight characteristics that develop genuine stick-and-rudder skill. Well-maintained, annually inspected, and based at KLXT.

Julianna is a graduate student in biology and a co-owner of Haug Aviation. A lifelong aviation enthusiast, she brings the same curiosity and rigor from her scientific research to supporting the flight school's growth.
Mayah is a senior at the University of Kansas majoring in aerospace engineering, graduating this December. After graduation, she's moving to Denver to work as a test engineer for an aerospace and defense company. She has always loved flying and is eager to help others achieve their own goals in aviation.
Jeffrey is a cell biologist who specializes in instrumentation that automates the quantitative measurement of cellular properties — a biologist and techie who loves engineering, physics, and instrumentation. His passion for aviation and commitment to a safety-first culture are the foundation of Haug Aviation.
